An easy but rewarding hike in the spectacular Puez Odle Nature Park with amazing scenery and wild flowers. The ascent in the Col Raiser gondola reveals ever grander views not only of the Odle peaks but in the opposite direction to Sassolungo and the Alp Di Siusi. Initially there is a climb up to the Troier hut then a meandering gentle descent past Pieralongia (a small hut and some large jagged rocks), to the area at the head of the valley. Here there are many marmot burrows and although we didn't hear or see any on this hike we have seen them previously. Turning then to head down the wide rock strewn valley some woodland is reached before a brief climb to Rifugio Firenze and back to the gondola.
